Holidays in the Village
Rotary Clubs of Westlake Village
PERFORMANCE DATE: December 4, 2022 . 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
AUDITION PROCESS: Please prepare a one-minute video that showcases your role described below.

SPECIAL AUDITION NOTICE: This is an “open call” audition – Non-Equity, there will be a pay stipend.
Post-audition feedback will not be given.
These performances will take place on the street level and not on the main stage.
EVENT SUMMARY : Holidays in the Village (https://holidaysinthevillage.org/) is an event hosted by both Rotary Clubs of Westlake Village, giving our guests an opportunity to experience the warmth and charm of an authentic European Holiday Market, a holiday tradition dating back to the early 1200s but right here in the heart of Westlake Village. Visitors will stroll through the Marketplace and shop for unique, finely crafted artisan gifts and tasty treats brought to you by our local artisans. As cheerful sounds of live holiday music fill the air, they will savor the season with traditional hot spice wine, biers, Kinderpunsch, and traditional European holiday fare in the Festive Gardens. The children will enjoy the Kris Kringle Village, the Scavenger Hunt, Village Polar Express, and activities designed to entertain. The final few hours are magic as the sun goes down and the holiday lights come on.
ROLE BREAKDOWN: All roles are open without regard to race or ethnicity.
SINGERS : 2-hour shifts. Groups of 2-3. Can sing acapella or bring your own portable accompanying instrument. Create a performance of holiday music of any style, genre, or period, preferably European. Must have your own holiday-themed costumes from any period.
DANCERS: 1-hour shifts. Groups of 3-4 Any style, from traditional to contemporary. Must create a 4-10 minute routine set to holiday music of any style, genre, or period. Must have your own holiday-themed costumes from any period.
ACTORS: 2-hour shifts . Experienced in improv. Performing unscripted street theater. Interacting with patrons and engaging them. Will roam the entire event. Must have your own holiday-themed costumes from any period.
STREET PERFORMERS : 2-hour shifts . Mimes, jugglers, magicians, balancing acts, stilt walkers. Must be able to perform within a 10 foot diameter circle. Must have your own holiday-themed costumes from any period.
